In brief

It was a return to form as both Terry Shelvey and Jamie Dyckhoff, each past champions in the SuperBangers at Arena Essex, cleared the table in three races on May 6. Dyckhoff guided his BMW to victory in the first race, then finished behind Shelvey in the final. Shelvey also won the sprint race ahead of Buster Woods, who also had a good meeting after just failing to clear up at the previous meeting.

Gary Thomas pinned two races down in the Group A Hot Rod Supreme Qualifier at Arena Essex on May 6, a heat and the well turned out helter-skelter at the end, while Robbie Wolf took the final, denying that win of Thomas. Dom Tomlinson managed a rare win while Mark Cook took the consolation in one of his best performances since Group A's finished racing on shale.

Stu Hammond dominated the May 6 Miller Motorsport World Series Outlaw Hot Rod meeting at Arena Essex with a heat and final double, with heat wins also for Antony Hawkins of Peterborough and late booking Chris Kew.
