BriSCA F2 Stock Cars
The BriSCA F2 Stock Car meeting at Arena Essex on June 10 saw Simon Edwards continue his winning streak after a heat and final win the previous evening in Birmingham with two heat wins, though he would be bettered in the final by Chris Bradbury.

After embarrassing himself in the final in the previous meeting for the formula, Edwards shot well away from the pack in both heats, though his win in the first heat was by the closest of margins, grabbing the line by a fraction of a second from Justin Fisher. The second heat was called just before its end as Darren Phillips of Canvey went up against the infamous Arena wall at high speed. Edwards also controlled the final until a little after half way when, having fought clear of Chris Stephens, Chris Bradbury shot up, past and away to a comfortable win, Stephens following a couple of laps later for second place while Neil Hooper grabbed the last podium place away from Edwards inside the last couple of laps. Mick Sworder took an easy Grand National qualifier ahead of Stephens.

Lightning Rods
Terry Shelvey won a hard fought final in the Supreme qualifying round for the Lightning Rods at Arena Essex on June 10.

Paul Strawson had the pole position in the final following his first heat win and third place finish in the second heat but had his lead cut drastically following a stoppage to clear Tony Gordon's car off turn four and clear the oil that had soaked the home straight which brought Lee Morrow, who had won the second heat, right up behind Strawson. Shelvey, also close behind in third place with defending British Champion Gary Greenland also in the pack, the restart was close, Shelvey muscling through with Greenland behind, leaving Morrow in third ahead of Mark Mackenzie. Greenland stayed with Shelvey through the final laps but was unable to find a place to pass from there on. Morrow's second heat win came following a steward's decision which saw Jumbo Kingsmill penalised three places for contact, Richard Anderson recovering from his lock up in the first heat to follow Morrow over the line for second place.

Banger Teams
With the leaders in the points, the Condoms, not attending, the third heat of the PRI Banger Team Championship was a straight race for the points between the Midnight Runners and the Gigglers at the Arena Essex June 10 meeting.

The Midnight Runners, defending the title they won last year, finally pulled in a massive 136 points thanks mostly to getting all six cars across the line in the final, led home by Jimmy Randall. The Runners didn't have it all their own way, however, with the Gigglers contesting hard through the meeting, especially in the final where the Runners left current unlimited banger World Champion, Jason Jackson, to mop up a concerted Giggler attack. Only Danny Gardiner managed to make it across the line for the eventual second place team while Karl "Blacknuts" Douglas put in the biggest hit of the meeting on Gladiator driver Danny Oliver by the pit gate, hurting himself in the process. Bad Company irregular Ian Harrison won the latest round of the Rawlins 2000 qualifiers at the end of the meeting, Ian Phillips surviving the onslaught of Ricky Korpiela to win the last car award. With three rounds accounted for, the overall points situation is that the Midnight Runners now occupy the top spot, the Condoms dropping to second but still comfortably ahead of third place team, the Gigglers.
