Just a small selection of the material on offer. On-track scrutineering is done for the Firecracker to allow the early arrival spectators to get a sample of what is to come as well as making things easier in the pits. Although Arena Essex has one of the biggest pits of its kind in the country, a meeting such as this can always lead to a real backlog of cars clogging things up, as well as large numbers of wandering spectators looking at the material on show, so this gives the officials time and space to look over the cars for anything naughty, and also gives photographers like me a chance to see the cars before they get smashed to bits...
