August 4 proved to be a trying meeting for everyone, with rain flooding the circuit and plaguing the meeting throughout.

The Ministox had the dubious honour of trying the circuit first and while Ben Murray might well celebrate the heat and final performance he put up, certainly the day will be remembered by many for the spins and crashes caused by the rain, especially the treacherous puddle that lurked on the inside of turn two that caught many out, especially Matthew Williams who managed to churn it up on several passes to name but one of the unfortunates. Visiting driver Ryan Palij had an easy first heat victory but was unable to repeat the performance in the final, while Jack Wheelwright grabbed the consolation and Travis Cope the unusual allcomers Helter-Skelter race, the result of a programme change due to the higher than expected numbers racing on the day.

The 1300 Stock Cars faired no better as they struggled with the rain soaked circuit in their Supreme Championship qualifying round, and if Darren Cardy missed out on winning the warm up race as he caught the turn two water trap and washed out, he took it in good humour as he congratulated Dean Hannay, who was to win both the warm up and the Helter-Skelter race, Cardy making up for his boob by winning the final ahead of Andy Brown and Scott Hughes.

Once upon a time, Jack Overy was an Arena regular, and a popular one at that, so it was with some surprise and just a little pleasure that he showed up for this meeting and almost swept the board, winning the final and the Rawlins qualifier and just losing out to Lee Madden in the first heat. Madden would also show favourably in the final with the top two out of the hard fought second heat also making an appearance in the top places, namely Andy Davies and Mark Amato, while Jason McMahon finished off a meeting that many would probably have preferred to watch in more comfortable conditions as the last car running.
